Book Three of The Stormlight Archive

MY thoughts:

Mommy? Sorry. Mommy?

Alright, look. It’s book three. You know what’s up. Why are we pretending this isn’t going to be a 6 out of 5 read for me? It took me a little longer to finish this one. It was just a bit bigger than the previous one, and I switched careers mid-read, so a lot was going on then. Taking longer to finish set me a bit behind, so I’ll hit some short reads in the coming weeks to get ahead again. But yes, this book is EPIC. The scope of the story keeps expanding. The stakes keep rising. It's bananas.

Everyone told me Oathbringer would be my favorite of the series, and I can see why. Finally getting Dalinar’s backstory was worth the wait. He was a real bastard back in the day: a badass, but a bastard. But honestly, I’m not sure this is my favorite of the series.

I loved it. Don’t get me wrong. But I’m feeling WORDS OF RADIANCE a little more. I don’t know. I’ll probably re-read the series after finishing it and see where my rankings lie. For now, it’s looking like Words of Radiance in first place, Oathbringer in second, and Way of Kings in third. But that might change.

The expanding scope also begins to worry me. I hope Sando can still juggle all these balls the further into the series we go. But we’ll see.

Six out of Five Lashings to the Sky.
