CURVE BALL
Everything is Topsy-Turvey
Well, I done did it this time, folks. I wiped out on my scooter. Scraped my arm and leg all up, and fractured my fibula. I’ve been on a crutch and boot for the last couple of days after being on a leg brace for too long. It was a daily battle with the insurance company to get off their ass and help me. I needed to see the Orthopedist. I had to call the insurance company every day, several times, get bounced around departments, denied, and try again. But everyone reading this in the USA knows what I’m talking about.
See?
The scraped-off skin on my leg is finally at a stage where changing the bandage isn’t a horror show. But that fractured fibula still makes those bandage changes a real pain in the ass. The scrapes on my arm, however, still feel like they’re on fire twenty-four seven, and the wound seems to have been more severe than the one on my leg, taking much longer to heal and get comfortable.
My wife has been playing nurse and running the house like a boss. Marry you a Warrior-Witch-Queen and watch them in action. It’s wild. My wife put an aloe, seaweed, turmeric paste on my wound that felt better than anything the doctors did for me. Gotta love that.
Due to the injury, I wasn’t able to climb my stairs to my office. So I didn’t have access to my computer. This means no writing got done and no work on the member site either. I’m now able to slowly climb my stairs. It hurts. But I can do it. So I’m back at it. Writing again as of today and this blog post. I thought about sharing photos of the injury but the best ones are quite grousome and the rest are on my Instagram if you’re into that sort of thing.
Bare with me as I slowly recover and get back into the swing of thing. For now, rest assured that I’m being cared for and growing stronger everyday. It’s all good. Could’ve been worse. A lot worse.
